MORE??!?!?!?!?!
This morning (Monday) we woke up to at least a few more inches of snow. There is over a foot now...it's insanity! Chains are required all over the city, so Jeff chained up and went to work to finish up a huge deadline. Chloe and I are trapped inside for the day, but it's not a bad view from in here. At least we are warm! Last night our power went out for a few hours, which left us driving around the city with our neighbor, looking for an open restaurant. NOTHING was open! Finally we found an open restaurant, but it had to be the ONLY one! The power came back on just as we were headed out to stay at Mike and Andrea's house.
winter blizzard
What fun we've been having! It's been snowing for a week straight now, on and off. We have both missed some work, which has given us a lot of time to play! We are definitely enjoying ourselves...snowboarding (Jeff got his first day up at Mt. Hood), baking cookies, Christmas shopping, watching movies, frolicking with Chloe, doing puzzles, and spending a lot of time with friends. We've still been able to get around a decent amount because we have studded tires. As of Saturday, we had eight inches of snow on the ground, with more falling. I just can't believe how beautiful everything is outside!
downtown christmas date
A couple Saturdays ago, Jeff surprised me and planned a special date downtown. We did all of our Christmas shopping, had coffee, ate an amazing dinner at our favorite restaurant (Serrato), and then stayed overnight at the waterfront Marriott. We had a tenth floor room overlooking the river and on Sunday morning, we woke up to beautiful snow. The picture is the view from our hotel room. Luckily Jeff had taken the car to Les Schwab on Saturday to get studded tires put on, otherwise we may have been stuck downtown! We ended the morning by having coffee with Aunt Jan, Debby, Meg, and Sarah (Jeff's cousins), who were also staying downtown. Such a wonderful weekend, and the beginning of this crazy blizzard we've been having!

a visit to the museum of glass
thankful for thanksgiving
This year, Jeff and I were at my parents' house in Seattle. My cousin, Mark, and his wife, Karrie, were also there for a couple of days and we had such a great time. The laughter never stopped! The guys watched and played football, and we all ate way too much food. And of course Chloe had her fair share of turkey and mashed potatoes. On Friday we braved the crowds and headed downtown for a day full of shopping...are we CRAZY??!! No! There is just something wonderful about being in downtown Seattle during the Christmas shopping season. Maybe it's the coffee? Or the crowds? I don't know. But I love it. :-)
